FAA Initial Flight Instructor Test Prep – $429

In order to get your CFI Ticket, you first have to pass 2 Exams.  The first of these is the FAA Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) Exam.  The FOI exam is a 50 question exam that proves to FAA you have the knowledge and skills to teach.  If you already have another FAA Instructor Rating (AGI, BGI or IGI) you have already passed this exam.  You can also receive credit for this exam if you hold a current teacher’s certificate at the junior or senior high school level, or you are an instructor at a college or university.

The second test is the Initial CFI Exam. This exam is category specific and options include Flight Instructor Airplane, Flight Instructor Rotorcraft Helicopter, Flight Instructor Rotorcraft Gyroplane,  Flight Instructor Glider,  and about 10 other variations.

The subject material for these Initial CFI Exams come from the VFR knowledge areas.  Our combined Commercial and Private Pilot test preparation cover this material extensively, and through that combined knowledge area, covers approximately 85%-90% of the subject knowledge needed to pass the Initial CFI Exam.  This course, with about 1 – 1 ½ hours of self-study utilizing the ASA CFI Test Prep (Included with the course) and our outlined procedure will fully prepare your for the Initial CFI and FOI Exams.

For $429 you get top quality ground instruction, Aviation Seminars printed course manual, ASA CFI Test Prep manual, immediate updates on FAA computer exam questions, in-person instruction which teaches content first, then answers test questions, personal attention in small groups – your questions get answered. 95% pass the first time. After passing your exam, you may re-attend for review purposes without cost within 1 year of your original attendance. You can also re-attend for free within 1 year of your original attendance for a review if you pass the exam.

Aviation Seminars has broken the FAA test into individual subject areas (see Topics Covered below). We teach each of those subjects individually, followed by a review of FAA Test Questions from that subject area. This ensures that not only do you receive instruction in each of the FAA Exam Subject areas, but you will be familiarized with how the FAA will question you on those subjects. This review also makes certain that the class understands each subject fully before moving on to the next subject.

You will be in a combined Private/Commercial program, where you will review the vast majority of the information you need to pass the Initial CFI and FOI Knowledge Exams. After the regular course is over on Saturday, you will spend Commercial Only time with our instructor, going over the Commercial Specific Knowledge areas. Constructing the class in this manner ensures that you will get very personal instruction going through the Private and Commercial Pilot Knowledge areas so you can pass the Initial CFI and FOI Exams.
